According to Zanfer Promotions, WBA world flyweight champion Hernán "Tyson" Marquez (34-2, 25KOs) will challenge the flyweight king of the WBO, Brian ¨Hawian Punch¨ Vilora (31-3, 18KOs), on a tentative date of September 29 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Marquez is not very satisfied with his close split decision victory over Filipino Fernando Lumacad, which took place this past Saturday.

"I felt a lot of pain in the right ankle from the third round on. Lumacad did not want to fight, and he stayed far away and his sole intention was to finish the fight standing. I could not cut him off," Marquez said.

"The fight against Lumacad gave me a good idea that 115-pounds is not yet my ideal weight, so I'll remain a little longer at 112-pounds. I plan to challenge Viloria in September. Viloria is tough, but his style is good for me because Viloria loves to fight."

Marquez will soon meet with his team to work out a strategy for training and then he plans to begin his next camp on August 5th.

De acuerdo con Promociones Zanfer, del mundo de WBA campeón de peso mosca Hernán "Tyson" Márquez (34-2, 25KOs) pondrá a prueba el rey del peso mosca de la OMB, Brian ¨ ¨ Hawian perforación Vilora (31-3, 18KOs), en una fecha tentativa de septiembre 29 en el Home Depot Center en Carson, California.

Márquez no está muy satisfecho con su victoria por decisión dividida sobre cerca filipino Fernando Lumacad, que tuvo lugar el pasado sábado.

"Me sentí mucho dolor en el tobillo derecho de la tercera ronda en el. Lumacad no quería pelear, y se quedó muy lejos y que su única intención era terminar la pelea de pie. No pude cortar", dijo Márquez .

"La lucha contra Lumacad me dio una buena idea que 115 libras-aún no es mi peso ideal, así que voy a seguir siendo un poco más de 112 libras. Tengo la intención de desafiar a Viloria en septiembre. Viloria es difícil, pero es su estilo bueno para mí porque Viloria le encanta pelear. "

Márquez pronto se reunirá con su equipo para elaborar una estrategia de formación y luego tiene previsto comenzar su campamento el próximo 5 de agosto.

(UNIFIED BELTS AND FIGHTER OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION AT STAKE FOR THE FIL-AM FIGHTER)

Los Angeles, CA – The famous Wild Card Gym in this equally famous town is home to the Philippines’ most recognizable boxer in Manny Pacquiao on weeks leading to his fights. But these days, the gym is home to another popular Filipino fighter as he prepares for one of the most important fight of his career.

WBO Flyweight champion, Brian Viloria is hard in training in Freddie Roach’s famed gym for his unification match against WBA World Flyweight titlist, Hernan “Tyson” Marquez of Mexico. The fight which is tentatively scheduled for September 29th and possibly at the Home Depot Center in Carson is still being worked at by both fighters’ promotional outfit.

“Training is going great. We started almost a month and a half ago keeping myself in shape. We are still anticipating the September 29th date. It is still being worked as we speak but hope everything is okay,” Viloria said. Issues like the final venue selection and which network TV will carry what most consider as a potential war between these two combatants of the ring.

The 31 year old native of Waipahu, Hawaii stated that he has already started sparring last week to get himself ready for Marquez. He has set his mind that the fight will unfold as scheduled and that he is intent on keeping his training on track for the targeted date. “As far as I go, I need to just keep myself in shape and have myself ready for the fight. That is my job. My management and my team is trying to get everything all set for the 29th date.”

The Filipino American of Ilocano descent is looking forward to this fight and verbalized that he has wanted this fight for a long time. “I have gone to other wars. (Giovani) Segura was a great fight. The win over Nino (Omar Romero) was another great fight. But I think right now, I’m more focus and I’m more wanting of this fight with Marquez,” Viloria confided.

“It’s a fight that is going to be a great fight. Stylistically we both bring the same fighting style. We want to stay toe to toe with each other. We will give the fans a great show. We will go out there to knock each other out,” Viloria said with a chuckle. He observed that Marquez fights the way like Segura does, “only quicker and a lot more technically sound.”

The bout will unify two titles of the 112 pound class but Viloria sees it as a bonus if he wins. The greater desire for the former Olympian was to beat a boxer with Marquez’s credentials and to successfully defend his belt. “Right now, it’s about creating a great fight with a great fighter like Marquez and having to put a great show. Winning another world title is an icing in the cake but I just want to hold on to my title for as long as I can and do it with a great action in a great fight.”

Marquez who holds a record of 34-2 with 25 knockouts is on a seven fight winning streak in a span of two years. Incidentally, his last two defeats were in the hands of two Filipino fighters. He lost to Nonito Donaire on July 10, 2010 by the way of an 8th round TKO in Puerto Rico where the interim WBA Super Flyweight Title was at stake then. His other lost came four months prior to the Donaire fight, where he lost succumbed to Richie Mepranum in a ten round Unanimous Decision defeat in Dallas, Texas. Marquez avenged that lost to Mepranum last March 24, 2012 in Mexico by the same manner, a 10th round Unanimous Decision victory.

Viloria who has figured in two outstanding fights this year against Segura and Romero is expecting nothing less against his fellow champion. He has stopped both Segura and Romero in two bruising battle and a win against Marquez that will likely put his name in the running for the “Fighter of the Year” award for 2012. But that thought is not what motivates Viloria right now. His intention is to put on a show that the fans would appreciate against a tough warrior like Hernan Marquez.

“All I want to do until I retire from the sports is that, to put out a great fight, to put out an exciting fight,” said Viloria.

This battle with Marquez might just give him what he wanted, a battle to remember between two accomplished fighters of the lower weight classes.

And with a win, he might just get more than the icing of the cake that a victory brings. He might get the whole cake as well.

Los Ángeles, CA - El gimnasio Wild Card famoso en esta ciudad igualmente famoso es el hogar de boxeador de Filipinas más reconocible de Manny Pacquiao en semanas previas a sus peleas. Pero en estos días, el gimnasio es el hogar de otro popular peleador filipino, mientras se prepara para una de la pelea más importante de su carrera.

OMB peso mosca campeón, Brian Viloria es duro en los entrenamientos en el gimnasio de Freddie Roach famoso por su combate de unificación contra el campeón peso mosca de la AMB Mundial, Hernán "Tyson" Márquez de México. La lucha que se ha programado tentativamente para septiembre 29 y, posiblemente, en el Home Depot Center en Carson todavía se está trabajando en conjunto por ambos peleadores promocional.

"El entrenamiento va muy bien. Empezamos casi un mes y medio atrás me mantengo en forma. Todavía estamos anticipando la fecha de 29 de septiembre. Todavía se está trabajando en estos momentos, pero espero que todo está bien ", dijo Viloria. Temas como la selección sede definitiva y que la cadena de televisión se llevan la mayor parte lo consideran como una posible guerra entre estos dos combatientes del anillo.

El nativo de 31 años de Waipahu, Hawai dijo que ya ha comenzado combate la semana pasada para llegar a sí mismo listo para Márquez. Él ha puesto su mente que la lucha se desarrollará como estaba previsto y que tiene la intención de mantener su entrenamiento en la pista para la fecha prevista. "Hasta donde yo voy, tengo que mantener a mí misma en forma y prepararme para la pelea. Ese es mi trabajo. Mi gestión y mi equipo está tratando de tener todo listo para la fecha 29. "

El estadounidense de ascendencia filipina Ilocano está mirando adelante a esta lucha y que verbalizar ha querido esta pelea por mucho tiempo. "He ido a otras guerras. (Giovani) Segura fue una gran pelea. La victoria sobre Nino (Omar Romero) fue otra gran pelea. La pelea será unificar dos títulos de la clase 112 libras pero Viloria lo ve como una ventaja si él gana. El mayor deseo para el ex olímpico fue para vencer a un boxeador con credenciales de Márquez y de defender con éxito su cinturón. "En este momento, se trata de crear una gran pelea con un gran peleador como Márquez y tener que poner un gran espectáculo. Ganar otro título mundial es una guinda en el pastel, pero sólo quiero mantener mi título por el tiempo que puedo y lo hago con una gran actuación en una gran pelea ".

Márquez quien tiene un récord de 34-2 con 25 nocauts está en una racha de siete victorias en un lapso de dos años. Por cierto, sus últimas dos derrotas fueron en manos de los dos peleadores filipinos. Perdió ante Nonito Donaire el 10 de julio de 2010 por la vía de un octavo nocaut técnico en Puerto Rico, donde el interino AMB súper mosca título estaba en juego entonces. Sus perdido vinieron otros cuatro meses antes de la pelea Donaire, en donde perdió sucumbido a Richie Mepranum en un diez derrota por decisión unánime en Dallas, Texas. Márquez vengada que perdió a Mepranum pasado 24 de marzo de 2012 en México por el mismo procedimiento, un décima victoria por decisión unánime.

Viloria, que ha figurado en dos peleas destacadas de este año en contra de Segura y Romero espera nada menos contra su compatriota campeón. Ha dejado tanto Segura y Romero en dos dura batalla y una victoria contra Márquez, que probablemente pondrá su nombre en la carrera por el "Boxeador del Año" para el 2012. Pero ese pensamiento no es lo que motiva a Viloria en estos momentos. Su intención es poner en un espectáculo que a los fans les agradezco contra un guerrero duro como Hernán Márquez.

"Todo lo que quiero hacer hasta que me retire de los deportes es que, para poner una gran pelea, para apagar una pelea emocionante", dijo Viloria.

Esta batalla con Márquez podría darle lo que él quería, una batalla para recordar entre dos boxeadores destacados de las categorías de peso inferiores.

Y con la victoria, él podría obtener más de la guinda de la torta que una victoria trae. Él podría conseguir todo el pastel también.
