One on One with Adrien Broner: “Flashy at times, I’m a jack of all trades, My goal is to keep winning”

Love him or hate him, Adrien Broner is here to stay. Adrien “The Problem” Broner
24-0 with 20 knockouts is currently setting his sights on becoming boxing’s next
superstar.
Flashy, that’s putting it lightly,boisterous, yes when he chooses to be. Self-assertive
is his middle name. What out weighs all the negativity from his critics is the fact
that Adrien is a determined fighter with punching power and has a natural talent who loves
to entertain his fans.
Adrien stills needs to prove he can handle the “big boys” at 135 or 140. He has youth and skill
on his side, but it’s still to early to say if “The Problem” is more fact or fiction. You
can be sure the boxing world is taking notice every time Adrien steps into the squared
circle.
Also on the call was Andrew Williams. Adien’s local promoter (R&R Promotions)
Let’s talk to Adrien:
BD What sparked your interest in boxing?
AB My dad put the gloves on us ( his twin brother Andre also) we beat everyone in the streets. Then he took us to the gym.
BD How did you get your nickname?
AB My brother gave it to me because I was causing havoc in amateur tournaments and it stuck.
BD What does being undefeated mean to you?
AB It means a lot to me. If I can conquer so much now and stay undefeated that is my goal.
BD Could you comment on not making weight and being stripped of your title?
AB I really don’t want to talk about it. I’m moving up in weight and looking ahead.
BD How would you rate your performance of your last fight?
AB I’m my worst critic. It was a good fight. My opponent was a solid fighter and I think he will retain the title.
BD Who is your trainer?
AB Mike Stafford
BD Where do you train?
AB Mount Auburn Rec Center
BD What about Lindy calling you out?
AB I understand that. You want to fight the best and they want a shot at me.
BD How do you stay focused in training?
AB I love the sport of boxing. Training camp is a high for me.
BD Describe your boxing style?
AB Flashy at times. I’m a jack of all trades. My goal is to keep winning.
BDWhat makes you different then all the other fighters today?
AB Nobody out there does what i do. I’m a game changer. I’m that diamond that everyone
is looking for.
BD What are your strengths as a fighter?
AB My power but I also just mix it up. I do what I want in the ring.
AW Adrien is very smart in the ring. It’s important for him to know where he is strong.
BD What needs improvement?
AB You can always get better. I have to stay sharp and focused.
BD With a very similar style to Floyd Jr. Do you think you will go above and beyond Floyd?
AB I can’t tell the future but that’s definitely my goal.
AW We knew from early on Andrien was special.
BD What do you love about the sport of boxing?
AB I’m so competitive. I love the challenge. I love to win. It’s an individual sport. I like to
do something on my own.
BD What do you dislike about boxing?
AB Sometimes, guys like us (including Floyd Jr.) don’t get credit for what we do.
BD A comment on PED’s and boxing?
AB I don’t get into it. I’m sure they will clear it up.
BD What fighters have inspired you?
AB Floyd Jr., Rau’shee Warren who is a 3 time Olympian. He gave me my first whooping during my first
day at the gym and Aaron Pryor.
BD What do you feel gives you a competitive edge?
AB I show no emotion . Nothing gets to me in the ring. I’m just going to do what I need to do.
BD How do you deal with critics?
AB The critics are still watching me. They’re talking about me. I do what I do and get the victory.
BD What was your best fight?
AB They all have something special but I would say, Fernando Quintero and Daniel Ponce De Leon.
BD What was your toughest fight?
AB Daniel Ponce De Leon
BD Your dream fight?
AB If I could fight myself. I’d KO’d him out.
BD Your opinion of Women’s Boxing?
AB I support it.
BD Your opinion of MMA?
AB I don’t watch it.
AW It’s an entertaining sport and that is what Adrien is doing for boxing making it entertaining
and bringing back the KO’s.
BD Tell me about the hair-brushing?
AB Honestly. I really felt I needed it the first time. I can’t stop it now because no one
else does anything like that but me and it feels good.
BD How can we keep boxing strong?
AB Keep promoting Adrien Broner. I’m bringing in the fans. I’m flashy and exciting. I’m
just being myself out there.

Es muy mamilas.....está uscando marketing y seguir los pasos de FLOYD....tal cuál.

Pero el tipo tiene tremendas condiciones Boxísticas.

Lo que más me gustó de la entrevista es cuando dice que su padre les ponía guantes en la calle.....para que se pelearán con otros chavales.

Recuerdo que alguna vez hice eso en mi Barrio de niño!

Gracias por la nota Carlos, gran curro!! Bueno a mi personalmente no me gusta, pero reconozco q el tio es muy bueno y si sigue asi, y sube y enfrenta a los mejores, aunque sea a algunos, pues se convertira en una estrella.

Pero para ser una estrella tienes q enfrentarte a lo mejor y dejar de escoger rivales. Hasta el reconoce q su pelea mas complicada fue Ponce de Leon!

Lo que más me gustó de la entrevista es cuando dice que su padre les ponía guantes en la calle.....para que se pelearán con otros chavale

Me gustaría ver a Borner vs. el Titere Vazquez, Demarco, Gamboa, Mattysse, Danny García, Khan......etc....

Si el tipo se mantiene enfocado, ninguno se lo gana, y a la mayoría le da Ko. Solo Garcia y Mathysse le podrían dar buena pelea por su fortaleza física., pero ese factor debe ser determinante, de lo contrario podrían ser víctimas de las habilidades de Broner.
