Pero le gano a un campeon, eso cuenta. Pq no trasamos los criterios a seguir, pq tal vez para ti es mas meritorio enfrentar a 15 o 16 plumas, aunque sean clase C, que desbancar a un campeon de cinco defensas.

A shoulder injury knocked John out of a May 22 title defense in his home country of Indonesia against Argentina's Fernando Saucedo, but it will be rescheduled for this summer. If John wins, he plans to go big-game hunting for a fight against the likes of Juan Manuel Lopez or Yuriorkis Gamboa.

2. Juan Manuel Lopez (28-0)

Lopez, a former junior featherweight titlist, will make his first featherweight defense on Showtime in his native Puerto Rico against entertaining Filipino contender Bernabe Concepcion, who defeated Mario Santiago in a de facto box-off for the title shot.

3. Yuriorkis Gamboa (18-0)

Plans are in the works for a July 24 HBO fight. But who will he defend his belt against? The network wanted Celestino Caballero, but Gamboa's team rejected the fight. That leaves fellow titlist Elio Rojas and interim junior lightweight beltholder Jorge Solis as potential opponents.

4. Elio Rojas (22-1)

In his first defense, Rojas went to Mexico and beat hometown fighter and former titlist Guty Espadas Jr. in a near-shutout on Feb. 20. Now, there is talk of him facing Gamboa on HBO, but it's a long way from being done.

5. Celestino Caballero (34-2)

The longtime junior featherweight titlist made a successful move to featherweight and hammered previously undefeated Daud Yordan on HBO on April 10. Caballero and promoter Lou DiBella were ready for him to face Gamboa on HBO on July 24, but they received a lowball offer because Gamboa's team doesn't really want the fight, so it's not happening.

6. Orlando Salido (34-10-2)

In 2008, Salido lost a split decision to Mexican countryman Cristobal Cruz for a vacant belt. On May 15, he scored two knockdowns and unanimously outpointed Cruz to win the belt in a rematch.

7. Cristobal Cruz (39-12-2)

Cruz's excellent recent run came to a grinding halt on May 15 when he was dropped twice and lost a decision and his title to Salido, whom he had defeated in 2008 to claim the vacant belt.

8. Steven Luevano (37-2-1)

Luevano was a good titleholder, successfully defending a belt five times before running into the Lopez buzz saw Jan. 23. Luevano simply did not have the physical strength to keep Lopez off him, and he paid the price.

9. Rafael Marquez (39-5)

Marquez, the former junior featherweight and bantamweight champion, has won both of his featherweight fights by third-round knockout. First came his return to the ring last year, after a long layoff, and his disposal of Jose Mendoza. Then came the more notable, cut-induced stoppage of rival Israel Vazquez on May 22, as Marquez evened their all-time great series 2-2.

10. Bernabe Concepcion (30-2-1)

The Manny Pacquiao protégé schooled Mario Santiago with surprising ease to win a decision Feb. 13 and earn a shot against Lopez on Showtime. Concepcion, who is from the Philippines, will have to go to Lopez's turf in Puerto Rico for the opportunity.
